NPM PALM BEACH CHAPTER!
In an attempt to make a better connection among the widely varied music ministries in our Diocese, we have incorporated as a permanent chapter of the NPM, the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. NPM Palm Beach is open to all those in the five counties of the Palm Beach Diocese who are involved with liturgical music, liturgy, and the general life of the Church. Choir members, cantors, instrumentalists, directors, liturgy committee members, clergy, and those interested in supporting these dimensions of Church life are invited to join and participate in all activities of NPM Palm Beach.
Our greatest goal as a Chapter is to build up the Body of Christ through the music ministries of our parishes. We will work to provide education and support for parish music ministers through the dissemination of information from the Diocesan Liturgical Commission, the Chapter Board of Directors, and the National Office of NPM. In order to work most closely with the Diocese and the Office of Liturgy, the membership has agreed that the chapter officers will serve on the Diocesan Liturgical Commission. The Board will meet a minimum of four times per year. General Membership meetings will be held at least twice each year; plans at this time call for at least one workshop per year, and one choir festival/gathering per year. In an effort to deepen and enrich the spiritual life of the membership, every gathering will include a planned prayer service.
As a Chapter, we hope to become a source of encouragement and knowledge for music ministers, and a source of effective and respectful communication between musicians, pastors, and the leadership of the Diocese. We pray that each music ministry in every parish will become a center of excellence in serving the Liturgy, and in leading the worshipping assembly to a closer relationship with the Lord as they come together at His table.
Membership in our Chapter is easy. Simply click on the join link and print out the form. Complete the form and mail it to us with your $10 annual dues. Membership will entitle you to discounts on admission and materials at Chapter Gatherings, and you'll be included in our email list for further information on the activities of the Chapter
Our Chapter is an offshoot of the national organization, which has been in existence since 1976. We strongly encourage you and/or your parishes to become members of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. For more information about NPM, please visit www.npm.org.
